This policy explains what personal data the House of Zilbershlag collects when you register and participate, why we collect it, how it is kept, and the rights you have over it.

1. Data we collect

• From Google sign-in: your name and email address, and a unique account identifier.
• Your buyer profile: full legal name, telephone number, full postal address (street, city, postal code, country), and your national ID or passport type and number.
• Activity: lots you bid on, offers and reservations, watch-listed pieces, and settlement status.
• Technical: a language preference stored in your browser; standard log data.

2. Why we collect it

• to verify your identity and eligibility to bid;
• to administer auctions and private sales and to record binding bids;
• to issue invoices, settle purchases and arrange insured delivery;
• to prevent fraud and enforce our Terms, including permanent removal for non-payment;
• to communicate with you about your account and the sales;
• to meet legal, accounting and anti–money-laundering obligations.

3. Legal basis

We process your data to perform our contract with you (registration, bidding and settlement), on the basis of your consent (given at registration), for our legitimate interests in running a secure saleroom and preventing fraud, and to comply with legal obligations. Identification data is collected because high-value transactions require reliable verification.

4. How it is stored & secured

Your data is held in Google Firebase / Google Cloud infrastructure and protected by access rules that restrict each account to its own record. Identification details and contact information are visible only to you and to the collection office. We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data.

5. Sharing

We do not sell your data. We share it only as needed with: shipping and insurance partners to deliver a purchase; our professional advisers; and public authorities where required by law. Our infrastructure provider (Google) processes data on our behalf.

6. Retention

We keep your data for as long as your account is active and thereafter as required for accounting, legal and dispute-resolution purposes. Records of a permanently removed account are retained to enforce that removal.

7. Your rights

Subject to applicable law (including the Israeli Privacy Protection Law and, where relevant, the GDPR), you may request access to your data, correction of inaccurate data, deletion, or that we restrict or stop certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at the address below.

8. Cookies & local storage

We use your browser’s local storage only to remember your language choice and to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
